Passed Level III

A month prior to receiving the results, I didn’t think about my score and just enjoyed the NYC summer. A week prior to receiving the results, I ignored the thought about my score and tried to enjoy the NYC summer. An hour before receiving the results, I began sweating at my office desk as the anxiety and fear strangled me. What if I failed? How could I go through this all again? 9:00AM no email. 9:10AM no email. Finally 9:17AM email from the CFA institute. Holy mother of god. Opened it up… and… Passed! Booyah!! Did well on the essay section and crushed the multiple choice section. Momentous relief washes over me. Finally - it’s over.

At the end of summer, I moved apartments in New York (hadn’t moved in three years) which anyone that knows is incredibly difficult and taxing. So the entire summer I was consumed with enjoying life and finding a new place to live. I’ll have some time in the coming days/weeks to answer your questions and deal with this silly litigation that’s been going on.

Good Job! Has it opened new doors for you? Since at the previous post(way way back) you had none even after Lvl 2 is completed.

Congrats on passing level 3! I'm taking level 1 in December, so I get the same result.

One quick question, being in public accounting, have you thought about transitioning to business valuation or transaction services?

I understand CFA is highly desired for that type of work. Although I'll probably start in audit at a Big 4 when I graduate, my hopes are to eventually transition after 2 years into their business valuation department and from there..who knows? Just thought I might throw that out there.

Edit: I meant my previous comment to say "I hope I get the same result" in regards to you passing your last exam.

Congratulations!!! I'm pursuing the same qualifications and in a big 4 too. Mind if I ask at what age did you accomplish your final exam for CFA?

Thank you for your insight on taking the CFA exam. I'm actually working through level 2 immediately after getting the results from my level 1 exam. It's definitely a long journey and I might be taking a similar route that you've posted in your previous blog. Getting through these CFA exams and following up with an MBA for a possible career path switch. The material I'm learning is very interesting and has opened up a different perspective for me; not only learning about finance but personal development too. I'm starting to document my journey on my own site.
